How does monthly porta potty billing work?
A monthly porta potty rental is billed in 28-day cycles. The first cycle starts on delivery day, and weekly service is included in every cycle. When 28 days end, a new cycle starts and your card on file is charged again, unless you scheduled pickup before the cycle ended.
Each 28-day cycle includes:
- The unit on site for 28 days.
- Weekly service: we pump the tank, clean and disinfect, deodorize and restock toilet paper.
- Delivery and pickup, which are part of the first cycle.
A card goes on file before dispatch. Approved businesses, schools, churches and government offices can get invoice or net-30 terms. Full details are in our rental terms.
Why is porta potty billing 28 days instead of a calendar month?
Porta potty service runs on a weekly route, and 28 days is exactly 4 weekly service visits. Calendar months run 28 to 31 days, so they don't line up with service days. A 28-day cycle keeps every bill the same length, with the same 4 services, no matter which month it is.
With calendar months, some bills would hold 4 services and some would hold 5. That makes bills hard to compare. A fixed 4-week cycle is simpler:
- Same length every time.
- Same number of service visits every time.
- Your renewal falls on the same weekday as delivery.
How many 28-day billing cycles are in a year?
There are 13 billing cycles in a year on a 28-day schedule, because 13 times 28 is 364 days. A calendar-month plan bills 12 times. So a job site toilet kept all year gets 13 bills, each one covering exactly 4 weeks and 4 weekly service visits.
Here is a sample year at an example rate. The rate is an estimate inside our usual range of $165–$250 per 28 days for a standard job site unit. Your quote sets the real number.
| Item | Example estimate |
|---|---|
| Rate per 28-day cycle | $200 |
| Cycles in 52 weeks | 13 |
| Rental for the year | $2,600 |
| Service visits included | 52 |
| Cost per week | $50 |
Budget 13 payments, not 12. That one extra bill surprises a lot of people in the last month of the year.
What does a 28-day billing example look like with real dates?
Say your porta potty arrives Monday, March 2, 2026. Cycle 1 runs March 2 through March 29. Cycle 2 starts Monday, March 30, and runs through April 26. Cycle 3 starts April 27. Each new cycle starts on a Monday, exactly 4 weeks after the last one began.
| Cycle | Dates | What is charged |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mar 2 – Mar 29, 2026 | Rental + delivery and pickup |
| 2 | Mar 30 – Apr 26, 2026 | Rental only |
| 3 | Apr 27 – May 24, 2026 | Rental only |
| 4 | May 25 – Jun 21, 2026 | Rental only |
If the job ends April 15, call by about April 22 to 24 for pickup. That stops billing after cycle 2. If you wait until April 28, cycle 3 has already started.
Do I pay the full cycle if I only need the porta potty for 3 days?
The price is the same for 3 days or 28 days. A 28-day cycle is the shortest billing unit for a job site or long-term porta potty rental, and there are no partial refunds for early pickup. For a single weekend, an event rental is usually the better fit.
Pick the rental that fits the job:
- Weekend party or event: an event porta potty rental is delivered Friday and picked up Monday. Estimate: $225–$325 with delivery and pickup.
- Remodel, plumbing shut-off or job site: a 28-day unit with weekly service. Estimate: $165–$250 per cycle, plus $75–$125 on the first cycle for delivery.
If a plumbing job might run 2 weeks, the 28-day unit gives you room without a second bill.
How do I stop porta potty billing?
To stop porta potty billing, call (610) 229-3331 and schedule pickup before your current 28-day cycle ends. Pickup is not automatic. We suggest calling 1 to 3 business days early, or giving us a removal date when you book. Billing stops with the cycle in which we pick up the unit.
- Find your delivery date and count forward 28 days.
- Call Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We're closed Sunday.
- Give your order number, site address and how many units to remove.
- Keep the truck path clear on pickup day.
Want to extend instead? Do nothing. The unit stays, service continues and the next cycle bills. More on running rentals is on our long-term porta potty rental page.
Is the first 28-day cycle more expensive than the rest?
The first cycle usually costs the most because it includes delivery and pickup. Later cycles cover only the rental and weekly service. As an estimate, a standard job site unit runs $165–$250 per 28 days, with about $75–$125 added to the first cycle for delivery. Your itemized quote sets the final price.
| Charge | Estimate | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Standard unit, per 28 days | $165–$250 | Every cycle |
| Delivery and pickup | $75–$125 | First cycle |
| Same-day rush fee | $75–$150 | First cycle, if ordered same day |
| Extra service visit | $60–$95 | Each added visit |
| Card fee | Up to 3% | Card payments |

Related questions
Will you pick up the porta potty on your own when the job ends?
Pickup is not automatic. We don't know when your job ends, so the cycle keeps renewing until you call. Give us a removal date at booking if you already know it.
Can I keep the porta potty open-ended?
Open-ended rentals are common on job sites. The unit stays, weekly service continues, and each 28-day cycle bills on its own until you schedule pickup.
Can I add a unit partway through a cycle?
You can add units at any time. An added unit usually starts its own 28-day cycle on its delivery day. Ask us to line up the dates when you order it.
Can my company pay by invoice instead of card?
Approved businesses, schools, churches and government offices can get invoice or net-30 terms. Everyone else keeps a card on file before dispatch. We can also send a pay link to accounts payable.
Does a 28-day rental include cleaning?
Every 28-day cycle includes weekly service: pump the tank, clean and disinfect, deodorize and restock toilet paper. Bigger crews can add twice-weekly service.
