How far ahead should I book a porta potty in Lancaster?
Lancaster is about 85 miles from our Easton yard, roughly 100 minutes by I-78 and US-222. Porta potty delivery to Lancaster is scheduled, so book 2 to 3 business days ahead. Same-day is not typical. Multi-unit events and long-term job sites are the best fit for a trip this long.
Deliveries run Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The driver calls 30 to 60 minutes out.
Weekend events get Thursday or Friday delivery and Monday pickup. For a long build, see our long-term porta potty rental plan.
What access issues come up around Lancaster?
Lancaster city blocks are tight, with row homes, alleys and one-way streets around Penn Square. A porta potty needs level ground within about 15 feet of where our truck can park. Out in the county, horse-and-buggy traffic and narrow farm lanes slow trucks, so add travel time to the delivery window.
Farm events often sit on grass fields. Our driver does not drive on lawns or wet fields, so pick a spot near a farm lane or gravel drive.
Our placement checklist helps you plan.
Do I need a City of Lancaster permit for a porta potty?
A porta potty on private property in Lancaster city usually needs no permit. A unit on a city street, sidewalk or in a city park may need approval from the City of Lancaster. Rules change, so confirm with the city's Permits and Licensing office before you set a delivery date.
Start at the city's Permits & Licensing page. Park events go through the Bureau of Parks & Public Property.
Outside the city, each township sets its own rules. Please confirm with the office before delivery day.
Which units fit Lancaster events and farm sales?
Lancaster draws crowds for First Friday downtown, spring farm auctions and summer weddings in barns and orchards. Plan 1 standard unit per 50 guests for 6 hours. Barn weddings often choose a restroom trailer, which needs a garden hose and a 20-amp outlet. Add hand-wash stations where food is sold.
- Wedding restroom rental for barn and farm venues.
- Restroom trailer rental, booked about 7 days ahead.
- Hand-washing stations for food stands.
- How many porta potties you need for large crowds.
Why does Lancaster delivery cost more than Easton?
Lancaster porta potty rentals cost more than Easton rentals mainly because each delivery and pickup is a 170-mile round trip. Unit type, rental length, service frequency and quantity also set the price. Booking several units together spreads the delivery cost. Your itemized quote shows every line before you pay.
Weekly service on long jobs is part of the 28-day cycle. Extra visits are billed per visit.
